To accomplish our goals of increasing visibility into students' thinking in the process of interacting with models, new functionality is being developed for the NetLogo modeling environment.

Save/Review/Annotate/Share Model Runs

NetLogo review tab
This improvement allows students to compare runs of the model they are exploring and document their observations about changes that they make between runs. This feature is designed to support individual student work, small-group work, whole-class participation using HubNet and teacher-lead whole-class activities.

HubNet Teacher Clients

HubNet Teacher Client
With the new HubNet Teacher Client, teachers can easily manage a HubNet activity running on a remote server. Using this new client is as easy for teachers as the regular client is for students. The HubNet Teacher Client gives the teacher a full set of controls, through a familiar interface that is nearly identical to what they would see if they were running the activity directly on their own machine.

Hot Link Replay

Hot Link Replay
HotLink Replay enables students to record, compare, and annotate plots generated by the same or different model runs, as well as to recall what the visuospatial display looked like when important plot features were generated.

The DeltaTick Construction Kit

DeltaTick construction kit
DeltaTick is a simple, visual block-based programming environment that is designed to support students' construction of agent-based models by emphasizing the structural, levels-based, and behavioral aspects of those systems, and the ways they contribute to quantitative change.

Android HubNet Client

NetLogoAndroid
NetLogo Client Android HubNet Client
In the past, Hubnet support was limited to Java-eanbled devices (laptops were mainly used). The Android client greatly expands the universe of devices that can participate in a HubNet activity. The project resulted not only in a working client, but an improved architecture for supporting additional devices in the future.

Additional Features

Modeling Commons
Modeling Commons is an online community where people can post their models, create projects and discuss the models in an open forum. Through this website, users are encouraged to become contributing members of the world wide NetLogo community.
Internationalization
NetLogo is used by students are researchers all over the world. Functionality has been added to NetLogo to allow users to define a default language which affects all major elements of the graphical user interface. NetLogo also now support the full Unicode character set which includes accents as well as non-roman languages such as Chinese and Hebrew.
